Woodvale Rally

Woodvale Rally

A few of us from NWATOC went to the Woodvale Rally on Sunday 29th July. Had some issues on the way there in the morning, myself and another Tiger Owner (Trev) didn’t have any roofs, and guess what typically it rained, when it got really bad we stopped under a bridge and waited for the worst of it to pass, while parked under the bridge my phone started to ring, it was another member from NWATOC (Graeme) who did have a roof on his tiger, however as he was driving up the motorway in the rain, his ignition light came on and his wipers stopped working! So he too was also parked under bridge trying rectify the problem, as it turned out luckily it was only a blown fuse which he replaced and carried on to the event. Eventually the rain eased off enough for us to get on our way to and we met Graeme at the event at around 09:15.

We were entered into the M class event, in total there were only 7 cars in the M class, 3 tigers, one Bentley replica, some sort of MG and 2 rickman jeeps.

The three of us with tigers were all busy shammying down our cars, numerous times due to the showers we kept getting.

The cars were judged

1st place went to the Bentley replica

I got 2nd place

One of the Rickman jeeps got 3rd

Updates

Tuesday 31st July 2012

Ok no updates for a while as I have been out enjoying the limited good weather we have. Be tinkering with the car too, so updates to car since last post.
Replaced the standard tiger exhaust with a repack able 6” polished wunoff exhaust.

Tidied up the engine bay, I was not overly impressed with the standard look, I had some aluminum left over from the build so I made a template of the bulkhead and transferred this to the ally, I then polished the ally so a nice shiny finish.

Next was the pedal box cover as supplied with the kit, this was GRP and didn’t fit very well and also gave me issues putting the bonnet back on so I decided to make my own. Again I used ally and polished it.

I also purchased a polished ally expansion tank and fitted this to the bulkhead.

I also Purchased a polished ally battery tray

The last piece I added I made is a polished ally cover for the plugs and leads.

I also polished the aluminum water pipe which finishes it all off quite well. Picture below of the finished bulkhead.

The next updates I am looking to do is to change the water hoses to orange silicon, I also want to change the rear lights for round ones.
